The brief was to create a country cottage on wheels — warm, characterful and ready for life on the road. Somewhere simple but well-equipped, with everything needed for slow mornings, muddy walks, quiet evenings and curling up at night in a cosy van. It also needed to include a practical workspace and a comfortable seating area that could be used during the day and
converted into a bed at night.
Built for life beyond the campsite, this conversion includes solar panels and a battery system, giving more freedom to enjoy remote stays without relying on hook-ups. Inside, there’s running water, a two-burner hob, a beautiful copper pan sink, and a heater to keep things warm when the nights draw in.
And of course, we can’t forget the star of the show: the massive Welsh dresser. Full of charm and personality, it gives the van that unmistakable cottage feel, bringing storage, style and a proper sense of home into the space.
